You should have gt  an alert box warning you of missing fonts.

FF2 followed TeX's rendering of radicals which required the font to have
the radical glyph in a very strange position, the _height_ of the glyph
determines the width of the rule to be drawn, all teh actual "tick" is
in the depth. So if yo use a font with the radical all above the
baseline, TeX (and FF2, at least) draw a very thick overbar.
Not sure what FF3 does, its a long while since ive not had the fonts
installed:-)

with help from free mathplayer plugin, IE dislays mathml quite nicely,
and with the aid of CSS opera and safari can at least make mathml
legible, if not following the finer typographic points.
