Passwords Manager does not work at some sites

I just started using Firefox. I use msn hotmail and gmail for mail.
Firefox fills my name and password at the gmail site but not at the
hotmail site. I also notice that it does not fill it at the Yahoo mail
site. What is the reason for this?
Any help would be appreciated.
