Hi Daniel,

I don't think I understand your suggestion.

I understand the part about putting shortcuts into my Windows XP C:\My
Documents to the proper locations in my hierarchy (in fact, I already
do this). This works for those few programs which automatically START
in "C:\My Downloads", such as many Microsoft Office applications.
Unfortunately, Firefox is NOT one of those applications which defaults
to "C:\My Documents" (as far as I can tell).

Firefox only has two options (neither of which can do what you said it
seems to me):
- Always download into a specified directory without user intervention
allowed
- Always download into the LAST directory you save that file type into

Did I misunderstand your proposed solution? I don't see how it changes
the fact that Firefox doesn't have an option to "Always download
starting in this directory C:\My Documents."

If I set the default browser download location to "C:\My Documents",
then all files go there without any intervention allowed by the user.
Obviously that's useless.

Yet, the other alternative is that Firefox always starts wherever the
last document of that file type was saved, which is too deep in the
hierarchy.

Is there a way to ALWAYS START a firefox download at "C:\My Documents"
that I missed?
