On my machine I was able to use both of those sites with no problems.
Using Firefox 2.0.0.3, mplayer CVS and mplayerplug-in CVS (same as the
daily).

The seg fault really does not tell me anything, so your going to need to
enable debugging and perhaps even send a gdb backtrace of this problem.

I don't use QT, I think you are using the GTK2 version of the plugin

The error you are getting basically says that X sent you something you
were not expecting. This can be caused by programming errors, but
without knowing the context of it, it is very difficult or impossible to
find.
