Mozilla stay in background

Is there a way to keep Mozilla from popping to the front when it gets a
new URL request from another Windows application? (I have it opening in
a new tab, but it's bringing Mozilla to the front - I want it to stay in
the background until I'm ready for it...) Tabbrowser Extensions had a
setting to do this, but I couldn't get it to work with Mozilla 1.7.1, so
I switched to Multizilla.

I couldn't find this option in Multizilla's Preferences or on the
FAQ. I've already set every setting in the Preference Editor that has
the words "loadInBackground" to true...
