As somebody alse also pointed, this is a public list and the 'default' should be to 
reply to the list. If you want to make a private replay, that's always possible.
All the other lists I partecipate have as default reply to the list.
So I'm used to just hit the reply button on my mail client to answer an e-mail.
On this list instead I need to do a group reply, but sometime I forget it and just 
hit the replay button. In that case my answer is only seen by one person and nobody
else. That's a pity because if I'm helping somebody with a problem, nobody else
who have the same problem, at that moment or in the future, can use that help.

Just my thought.
