Hopefully this post serves to help those trying to encode aac or mp4
with faac using grip. It should serve as a basic howto. I've been
wanting to get grip encoding faac files for a while but have never been
able to get it to work right. My generic google searches turned up
nothing in the first page which is about as far as I go. So tonight I
sat down and get something working. Below are configuration settings
that worked for me w/ grip and faac.

My system is a bit outdated since I use Debian and keep the
configuration controlled:
Debian Stable 3.1
Grip version 3.2.0 (what comes w/ debian stable.)
libfaac0 1.24-0.3
faac 1.24-0.3

The settings that worked for me in Config->Encode->Encoder:
Encoder executable: /usr/bin/faac
Encoder command-line: -w -q 130 -c 19000 -b %b --artist %A --track %t
--title %n --album %d --year %y --genre %G --comment "Created with GRIP
and FAAC" -o %m %w
Encode file extension: mp4
Encode file format: /var/media/audio/albums/%a/%d/%A-%d-%t-%n.%x

I have put together a VERY simple web page which may help people out.
It is located at: http://www.theengineer.org/~gbassett/grip_faac/.
Please redistribute this information in any way you see fit. I'd rather
just see it become easily findable. I would however appreciate it if
people don't link directly to my images. I only have so much bandwidth.

Anyway, hope this helps out someone.
