Does the CD-ROM spin up if you click on grips play button? Or does it
not even spin up?
If it does spin up but you "only" get no sound, it could be possible
that you don't have an audio cable from your CD-ROM to your soundcard.
Although grip can rip CDs, it does not use digital audio extraction to
play the CDs, so you need an audio cable. If that's not possible (e.g.
because it's a laptop), you can use a CD player which is able to use
digital audio extraction, like kscd.
