AFAIK hotplug and udev shall coexist: udev is for adding and removing 
devices dynamically and hotplug is the mechanism to handle them when they 
are added/removed, for example hotplug drives D-BUS (correct me if I'm 
wrong). So udev does not replace hotplug, they have different tasks. I 
even think udev is dependent on hotplug to do its work.

The problem with SuSE used to be that SuSE used a quite odd program named 
"resmgr" (resource manager), to bring USB devices into userspace 
permissions. The "nomadjukebox" script calls this program if it exists so 
if SuSE have somehow stopped using that, it might cause problems.

So if you go into /etc/hotplug/usb/nomadjukebox and comment out the rows 
used by "resmgr" (or atleast the "exit 0" statement), what happens?
