The bundledness matters insofar as the URE is not separately available 
for download from OOo anymore, thus it is quite unlikely that anybody is 
going to combine the unbundled 3.3 URE with a unbundled 3.2.1 OOo.

AFAIK the symbol renaming is just a declarative fix, reverting the patch 
in LibreOffice should solve the issue without any side effects. The 
patch may than be re-applied with a incompatible URE version; or may be 
abandoned with OOo 3.4.
