It's a good question but, no, I'm not aware of any objective analyses
comparing XP vs. Other methodologies across a set of contexts.

"Better" is a dangerous word outside of a specific context / audience.  Are
you interested in building better software?  Or in building software better?
Do the business mgmt. team and software development team agree which is more
important?  And if so,  do they have the same (or anywhere close to the
same) definition of "better"?

Hard data is hard to come by,  but if you're interest is in convincing
others to adopt XP you probably want to post your question to the
extremeprogramming group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/extremeprogramming).
Lots of anecdotal support there for why XP is better.
