As Bill has pointed out, there are no apples to apples comparisons, and my
guess is that there never will be. One reason is that there are few, if
any, apples to apples comparisons of /any/ two methods. The problem is
finding the apples to compare.

I wish there were hard data available. But there is not. There is only
rhetoric, and experimentation, at least so far. However, there are coming
to be more and more successful experiments, in a wide range of situations.
