In addition to what Philip said, it also allows communication so that
customers can see the status of what is going on whenever they like.
For example, we are currently doing one-week iterations for a customer
who is several states away. We have the list of tasks. If we had FIT set
up we could write the integration tests that prove those tasks are
"done". Then, whenever the customer wanted they could go on to the Wiki
and run the tests to see the progress we're making without having to
wait for the build at the end of the week.
And, because you can kick of the tests from inside the Wiki, they can
view this without any iteraction from developers.
