Even for an alpha, I think all of our existing tests should run with all the supported back-ends. It doesn't pass all the tests, but if you use it you could report bugs to us. Bug-hunting is, I think, one of the most needed efforts at the moment (since there isn't really any momentum for development). Another needed effort is proper documentation -- that's one of the things I may take a whack at after my thesis defense (which is on thursday, by the way. Yay!
