Actually, this should be easy (my first version of gtkextra-2 didin't have any pango code in it). All you have to do is replacing the drawstring code in gtkplotgdk.c, and gtk_plot_text_get_size in gtkplot.c. That should make it. Anyway, I'm a little stubborn :-), and I would like to see a solution to the pango issue.
