I have an old version of gtk+-2 installed, I'll try it out with 2.6.x 
and I'll update on this.

Of course you are more than welcome. Let me finish with the release 
(still working on the Change log), and you can play with the code.

Sure! Look at the example 2 in testgtksheet.

You can use gtk_sheet_rows/columns_set_visibility to hide/show them.
