Netgate seems to recommend the boards/ kits that I've also seen for the 
pfSense:

Regarding the APU1D4 Ethernet port LED issue e-mails you forwarded 
off-list, have you seen this problem on your board?  Is it now fixed?


STFW I see people talking about Realtek networking chips being more CPU 
intensive than other brands (Intel is mentioned in a positive light). 
Do you know if the board can fill all the pipes simultaneously (3x 1000 
Mbps x2 full-duplex Gigabit plus whatever wireless), or is there a known 
upper limit?
