--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Sales Engineer Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2008-08-28 We are looking for an experienced sales evangelist to aid in the attainment of the Secure Mail business unit’s quarterly and annual revenue goals. Responsibilities Evangelize Secure Mail to the sales team and partners. Deliver the Secure Mail message consistently, frequently, and positively. Drive or assist customer engagements with large prospects. Assist in account strategy/planning for large Enterprise class deals. Aid with business unit forecasts. Oversee and consult with Secure Computing Corporation’s worldwide network of sales representatives to properly represent the company's Secure Mail products. Be the “go to person” for all sales related issues for Secure Mail. Assist with field marketing activities for Secure Mail products. Maintain a positive relationship with the Product Management, Sales Engineering, and Product Marketing organizations and provide them technical input for feature development. Provide the product marketing and product management groups with input on market trends and competitive landscape. Provide training for Secure Computing Corporation’s sales force as well as channel/partners on how to sell and position Secure Mail, how to cross-sell with other Secure products, and leverage Secure sales/marketing tools. Determine what territories and partner channels are working well and those that aren’t and bring focus to the causes, share best practices, and assist in resolving issues. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Must be an articulate and persuasive evangelist who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical prospects. Must have strong working knowledge of the e-mail security industry, competitors, and techniques to grow effective sales activity. Must have a working understanding of information technology and information security. Must have creative thinking skills to overcome sales obstacles. BS degree or equivalent experience. 7+ year track record of outstanding sales results selling security and networking related software/hardware products. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. A strong history of sales quota attainment on a regular basis. An independent self-starter driven to succeed and close business. Strong reference list that includes peers, supervisors, partners and customers. Strong solution-selling background with demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Mail security ILP/DLP Application security Government compliance Systems integration Reporting and databases Preferred Experience Specific industry experience with the following types of companies is preferred but not required. Web Security solutions manufacturers Application Firewall Manufacturers Identity and Access Management solution providers Value Added Reseller representing multiple security industry solutions President’s Club/Top Achiever award winners preferred.
