--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Forensics Engineer Location: Schaumburg, Illinois, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2008-12-04 This role will support the Mobile Devices business and report to the Moto= rola Information Protection Services leader for Mobile Devices. Incumbent= will be responsible for applying digital forensic evidence production pr= otocols to rapidly service time sensitive, highly confidential investigat= ions and high profile litigation/electronic discovery. Specific responsib= ilities include:=0D • Perform Forensic Investigations in accordance with industry-accept= ed practices and corporate policy=0D • Assist in the ongoing improvement of processes and procedures=0D • Assist other investigators with difficult tasks as needed=0D • Review investigation requests for accuracy and completeness=0D • Document requests and activities in case management system=0D • Conduct forensic investigations by collecting and analyzing digita= l evidence, logs and configuration information to determine a cause or be= havior=0D • Research and recommend forensic tools that improve productivity an= d accuracy of investigators=0D • Identifies diagnoses and corrects errors and problems. =0D • Provides technical guidance and assistance to others involved in t= he investigation to ensure precautions are taken to prevent data and equi= pment damage. =0D • Serves as technical consultant and provides training in computer e= xaminations and techniques to other forensic investigators and internal i= nvestigative entities=0D • May be required to testify in court as to the procedures and metho= ds used to obtain data.=0D • Studies computer literature, attends trade shows and seminars, rev= iews new products, etc. to keep abreast of the latest information and tec= hnology available. =0D • Performs other duties as assigned.
