I think I saw this question before.... let me check the (mail) archives...
hmmm... I don't see anything.
The decision to check what should be backed up (when doing an inc.) is entirely
left to tar. (search for --listed-incremental)
You are not using include = in your config file? What is the under lying
filesystem on the samba share?

PS amazing: it very quiet on the hdup lists, and then within a week two people
decide it is time to mail :)
