Hello Matthias,
unfortunately I can not offer a solution since I face basically the
same problem, being a historian writing my PhD-thesis.
I have posted similar questions in the past and did not reiceive a
reply. Maybe we get some hints this time?
The only suggestion I have:
keep it short: just donot put in such long titles/archname into your
references. If I remember correctly on the list was someone else who
had a problem with line-length and wrong wrapping etc. The different
fields (shorttitle) are directly (manually) accessible in jurabib but
that is not solution.
In my experience, not using archname at all (gave up on it) would get
you a bibliography with the name of the archive, subarchive and call
numbers/signatures. For historians, that is usually sufficient. Use
of Bibtopic or sth. similar is of course necessary to separate
properly different types of material.
Some other people seem to have used the misc-type to reference
archival files which would get you a shorttitle, that is a thing I
have not yet tried.
Greetings,
Rolf
