This is not in the specification.  Some versions of Word start with 
non-zero values.
However, there is no good reason that it does not start with zero.   
This is left over
from some horrible debugging session.  I will fix this.

Why is this a problem?  I would rather not mess with that code since it

areas of code that has been there "from the dawn of time"

I like this.  The Adobe names are pretty universal.
