an update problem

Dear MiKTeX users:

I have been using MiKTeX 2.9 in a Windows 7
environment (32 bit version) since last October.

I installed it in the following way:

1. I have downloaded the full MiKTeX 2.9 package
into a directory (E:\Archive\MiKTeX290) by running
     setup-2.9.3959.exe.

2, After successfully downloading it I run setup-2.9.3959.exe
again to install MikTeX 2.9 from the directory E:\Archive\MiKTeX290.

   The installation directory is C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9

Needless to say that I regularly update my installation in the same
way, i.e. ,

1. I download the full MiKTeX again into the directory
E:\Archive\MiKTeX290 (the new files are downloaded only)
     and then

2. I run the Update program (of course as an administrator).
Everything was OK till this morning.

3. This morning however (after I successfully downloaded the
new packages) the update program prompted (after a time)
    the following error message:

No such file or directory: E:\Archive\MiKTeX290\pr.ini

   What have I done wrong?

It is a further problem that the new version of
   setup-2.9.3959.exe,
i.e.
   setup-2.9.4214.exe
is uncapable to download the full MikTeX 2.9 (I wanted to make
a new installation), it always stops with the message not responding
after it has downloaded a part of MiKtEx 2.9 into a new diectory
E:\Archive\MikTeX290New.

Please help.

Sincerely yours

György SZEIDL
