If it installed correctly/normally, you just need to open a command prompt and run [pdf|xe]latex same as you presumably have on other systems before. The MiKTeX installer should have added its binaries directory to your PATH but if it didn't for some reason then you'll want to add the miktex\bin subdirectory of your MiKTeX root to PATH.

	tex story\bye

or

	latex sample2e

to see if default documents (and the commands) are working correctly before trying your own.
