I recently installed MikTeX 2.9 over MikTeX 2.7 (2.7 still
active, but in a different folder).
When I tried to run etex, I got the error
" etex: memory dump file not found "
" data: etex.fmt
Following instructions (from the "managing memory dump files"
page), I added `etex' in the `formats' button of the
`settings' menu; then `etex' showed up seemingly properly in
the `formats' list. I then ran `update formats' which,
however, produced the error
" miktex-makefmt: Unknown engine: etex "
What am I doing wrong??
PS: I installed MikTeX 2.9 for all users. in the above, I
chose `settings' , not `settings(admin)' etc.. Is that
perhaps the source of my problem ??
Any help appreciated.
ccn.
