That was exactly what I expected, but when I ran biber, the version
appears as 1.8 after recently install TeXlive 2014, before that I
tried tlmgr update -- self and there was not updates.

That could be truth, I spent almost 6 hours before run portable MikTeX
updating all the packages availables after install the portable
version. I was reading tutorials, installing TeXstudio and carefully
link properly latex, xelatex, lualatex and all the other options
included biber. That's the reason why it surprised me.

This could be truth, but that's why I tried to be careful with all the
installation. Once I try to do that with biber and didn't work.

I'm not installing and deinstalling randomly nothig, that's werid. I
try to carefully install everything I need as I have been doing for
almost 10 years. It's like Murphy's Law or something prevented me
properly use a TeXsystem that fits my needs, which are not so
demanding I think.

I see I have to do more tests and be even more methodical as you
suggest and stop bothering with my problems. My trouble is that I
haven't time and I have to submit my thesis in a few days. Sorry for
the inconvenience.
