Re: MikTeX2.9 and eps

Sorry for my bad temper, but things became very frustrating.

I finally concluded that my MikTeX2.9 had been corrupted for some reason
in the transfer from one
PC to another. So I downloaded the latest version from scratch.
On the way I encountered "Windows API error 5" but Windows itself
spontaneously proposed
getting administrator permission and this worked. (Would it not be
helpful to put a warning into the download tutorial about this, as it
seems to be a necessary step ?).
Now dvi compiles, with the eps figure, whatever WinEdit option I take
(Texify, latex or whatever).
"dvi to pdf" then compiles to pdf but with a blank instead of the figure.
However the direct "PDF Texify" option leads to a pdf output WITH the
figure.
So I still have a minor acrobat problem but I can get to where I need.

Many thanks to all those who made kind suggestions about what I should do.

                                           Ian
