I think I've found the problem. In my text I use the command \textls[-40]{some text} from the package microtype. Removing both \textls{} and the microtype argument from \usepackage{} solved it. Too bad that the package doesn't work, but at least it compiles now.
I use latex --> dvipdfm to compile my documents.
