Re: problem with latest upgrades | clean install | missing .dll

Spoke too soon.

While I *did* manage to get MikteX installed, with all the upgrades 
applied, with no errors, it never occurred to me to try a simple 
compilation.

So, I did, from the command line -- basic latex example.tex  -- the 
moment that it hit float.sty, I throws an error, telling me that 
*another* .dll is missing.  This time, Qt5Widgets.dll. But, this time, 
grabbing Qt5widget.dll and dropping it into miktex\bin didn't solve the 
problem.


So, I increasingly concur with my colleague --who in his original email, 
had the following as the first line: "MikTeX installer is really broken".

So it would seem...to put it mildly.
