This unfortunately only means that the executed process (initexmf.exe)
failed (exit code 1). If the file
C:\Users\fin7tsal\AppData\Local\Programs\MiKTeX 
2.9\miktex\config\uninst.log is empty, I would try to run the same
command as administrator manually from the console, maybe you would get
more information this way (it worked for me, at least partially, the
last time). I am not sure about mixed UNIX-like and MS-like path
separators in the arguments (i.e. "\" vs. "/"), but Windows seems to be
quite tolerant in this respect. 

Other than that, you may try to 

a) completely switch off your anti virus software and re-run the
install; there have been reports of some AV software false positive
alerts when processing some current MiKTeX packages,

b) generate the trace output (see http://www.miktex.org/diagnosing) and
create a bug ticket
