Problem installing MikTeX

I am trying installing MikTeX as a single user (with no admin privileges). I asked my admin to unistall MikTeX as admin and I tried to install again under my user name (Maurizio). This under Win10.
After I download MikTeX and try to install from a local directory, at the end of the whole process I get error message:
The operation could not be completed for the following reason:
The executed process did not succeed.
Details:fileName="C:\Users\Maurizio\AppData\Local\Programs\MikTeX2.9\miktex/bin/x64\mpm.exe",exitCode="1"
I do not see MikTeX listed among installed programs.
Any ideas?
