If you have the time, it wouldn't hurt and some users might appreciate
it, but I'm guessing that actually running the tests against the old
code is more information than most users will need.

Something along the lines of, "Rewrote the @macro code completely.  This
likely fixed some bugs but this hasn't been verified by running the new,
more complex test cases against the old code." should be sufficient for
most users.  If it's not sufficient, they can email us with questions...

Please mention the new use of tidy in the test suite and W3C compliance
as well, if you haven't already.
