At least FTP supports it, since I can set permissions through my FTP
client. I don't know if it's required or simply an extension.

From my experiments it does look as if the permissions are preserved for
existing files using both SCP and FTP, which is great. I was just
wondering if I had missed something obvious, and whether it was possible
to specify the permissions in AAP directly. That's not the case, so I'll
just make sure to set those manually.

BTW, things have been very slow here, and there haven't been many
updates on www.a-a-p.org. Bram, are you just busy with Vim 7, or is AAP
mature enough that there aren't any big features to be working on? I use
it all the time, and I hope it sticks around. I haven't found anything
that even remotely comes close to what AAP can do, so I'm also
recommending it to everyone.
