Jerzy, I apologize for not reading the instructions more carefully.  If 
I had done so, I would have seen that it requires SSH.

Richard, are you able to use gcvs with cvsnt and ssh via ssh-agent? 
When I try that combination, gcvs (gtk2) crashes.  cvsnt specifically 
states it uses putty.  Can I use ssh-agent, or do I need to use pageant? 
  Another bug: I tried on the Ports page of Preferences to select the 
checkbox for alternate rsh name, it wouldn't let me check this until I 
had checked For rcmd at the top.
