Ok, I'm in.  After I sent this, I figured out the problem.  You don't
need putty.  The first time you connect via SSH, it is prompting you to
confirm the host.  That is what is causing gCvs to crash.  After it
crashes, you are left at the prompt asking if you want to accept the
host.  I answered yes several times and restarted gCvs, but it happens
repeatedly.

I finally got around this by doing an initial request from the command
line to cvsnt directly, and answering yes to the question about
accepting the remote host. Now I can use gcvs to access the cvsgui
repository via SSH. But we need to figure out some way to handle that
initial authorization (without crashing, obviously.)
