Hi,

I keep running into this problem with WinCVS. I don't know what it is that
is causing it, but I am very often getting Updates failing with the
following error message:

cannot rename file CVS/Entries.Extra.Backup to CVS/Entries.Extra: Permission
denied

I like to run updates on the entire project, which contains some 250 folders
and 3000 files.

I can't figure out what it is that is controlling that file, however, it
seems to be related to WinCVS. I've tried disabling the flat-hierarchy just
in case that was causing it, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It
doesn't seem to be related to any particular folder within the project - it
seems to happen "randomly" at different points within the update.

Of course, the problem with this is that I can't seem to get a full update
in one shot, or even merges working properly with one shot.

Anyone have an idea what to do or how to resolve this problem?

Thanks,

Eric
