CVS/Entries lists files and directories in the parent folder of the
hidden CVS folder.  The guide just said to create an empty folder so
obviously CVS/Entries isn't going to be there.  

This looks like a documentation error, so how do I checkout a working
directory that doesn't exist in the unix repository?
