Unfortunately, some of the 3rd party code used in MacCvs is not available in an Intel build, so quite a bit of work would be involved in getting this build for Intel. And, quite frankly, the entire app framework used is really old, requiring yet more work  to migrate to something that could be carried forward (e.g. Migrating to a Cocoa-based app). 
This results in almost entirely rewriting the app.
Certainly doable, but a massive amount of work and nobody volunteering to spend all that time :(
