We didn't build it ourselves, but downloaded it for Sourceforge, version 1.10.10.
Through further discussion in the office here, we've come to learn the version number is not being displayed because of a Windows display font size setting. In Windows XP, if you open the display properties (Right click on the desktop, select Properties) and go to the 'Settings' tab, select 'Advanced', there is a DPI setting. The options are Normal size (96 DPI), Large size (120 DPI), and Custom setting ...
When the size is set to Large size, the TortoiseCVS version number is not displayed in the About window ... it is probably displayed, but for some reason made too large to be PROPERLY displayed.
We've continued with 2.5.03 because that was the version last distributed with TortoiseCVS. It's been working without issue for some time, so we haven't demonstrated a reason to upgrade ... perhaps I'll look into it.

Look again - the text says 'TortoiseCVS version ...'
Very oddly the version in your example is blank - probably meaning that
you built it yourself and didn't run the build scripts properly. If you
did not build it yourself please e-mail the mailing list/newsgroup a
link to where you downloaded this from.

Note: this is quite old and we strongly recommend that you upgrade to

You can also right click on TortoiseAct.exe and look at the version
properties, however if the dialog is blank probably so will that.
