Gerhard,
Thanks for considering the question!

I continued to look at my systems, and cannot find any means to get the status bar and hint showing the CVS information ... I have a feeling I'm going to be grossly embarassed once it's figured out.

So, as a test case, I've setup two virtual machines: one WinXP Pro and one Win 7 Ult 64-bit. After setting up the machines, I didn't touch a single Windows setting and went straight to installing TortoiseCVS 1.10.10. I accepted all the default install settings for TortoiseCVS and CVSNT.

Nor did I adjust any TortoiseCVS settings, I went straight to checking out and making a sandbox.

Attached are two screen captures from the two virtual machines. In each, you can see that neither the hint shown over the file and information in the status bar along the bottom do not include any CVS information. But, all the CVS icons and usual information are shown.

Anyone have insight for why I can't see the hints and status like other are?

Thanks,
Jim.

I do, on WinXP Pro. Status, revision, format.
