even though your sandboxes aren't marked, are you able to perform an update/commit? I find that I'm now having problems with the overlay icons not appearing correctly which seems to be the result of some registry problems.

after doing some reading (for example here http://pontusmunck.com/2010/01/19/fixing-the-missing-icons-in-tortoisesvn and here http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ds/viewMessage.do?dsForumId=4061&dsMessageId=2115205) it seems that the following steps are required to fix this problem (if that's what's happening for you):
(1) tortoiseCVS and CVSNT need to be fully uninstalled

(2) any registry entries looking like "tortoise" should be deleted from
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers

(3) these registry entries should be deleted entirely:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TortoiseCVS
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TortoiseCVSOverlays

(4) reinstall tortoiseCVS

FINALLY... I've also seen that sometimes you need to do a second install/repair of tortoiseCVS to get the overlays working correctly.

Yes, this was the case... I had neglected to remove the previous version.

So, removed everything (old and new) and started again.

Seems to install (no errors reported) but doesn't do anything....

My existing sandboxes don't get marked. There are no services loaded (don't know if this version has services?) There is no cvsnt control panel (again, does this version have one?)

It is as if there is another step... that I am missing. Can't see anything in either cvsnt or Tortoise user guides.

I had a similar problem that was caused by multiple, conflicting versions of CVSNT having been installed.

I suggest (1) uninstall tortoiseCVS, (2) uninstall all versions of CVSNT, (3) reinstall tortoiseCVS 1.12.3

Subject: re: 1.12.3

Just upgraded to 1.12.3.
When I do a right-click --> CVS -->About,

The window that opens Says:  it is TortoiseCVS UNSTABLE version 1.12.3; CVS client version: [unknown];
It also makes the breaking glass sound, that I have come to recognize as indicating an ERROR!

1) The web site indicates this was a STABLE version! (I would NEVER have upgraded if I had known it was UNSTABLE!

2) Does the breaking glass sound indicate anything.... Like the upgrade didn't complete correctly....

Do I need to DO SOMETHING?
What is the LATEST Stable Version?
How can I find a download? (I tried going through SourceForge, but no download ever started.)

Any help appreciated,

Gordo
