Blank Windows XP 2. Install XP SP1 3. Install .Net framework 1.1 4. Install Vault 1.2.3 5. Install Vault 2 preview 6. Go to add remove programs and remove the Vault entry 7. Open IE 6 - You won't be able to use "Find" and "Open in new window" will hang the new window Following the directions to re-register the dlls: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll regsvr32 shdocvw.dll fixed the issue - so vault is doing it it seems. (Eric, the first thing you might want to try is to remove any Merge modules from your MSI project and then re-add them in a different order - that fixed this issue for us the first time it happened, the second time it happened I had to go through and remove 1 MSM file at a time and recompile and test the install to get it working - that is how I narrowed it down to the ChartFX merge modules in our case.) But I did install that MDAC update yesterday so you may be right (although my PC was the only one in the whole office - 15 computers - that had the problem, even though we installed the patch on all of them) - I will be filing that KB article away for future reference.
