Hoi everyone, First thanks to m and Alberto for kindly answering my questions. I appreciate the answer from Lou as well, though I feel that the tone of his message was not appropriate. @ Lou It seems that it is mainly a personal preference which causes your disagreement with my question/suggestion. The apparent lack of accuracy in modelling in Blender is important to me and indeed probably because I am used to this from CAD. It certainly has a purpose in the artistic workspace as well, since you can then clearly identify the proper dimensional relations between the various components of your design. I know I have a lot to learn in Blender. That is why I asked the questions on this mailinglist. I want to know if there are trivial things I missed and if there are (similar or other) ways to get the results I know from some simple actions in common CAD software. I gave the suggestions to further clarify what I would like to achieve and if it is not possible yet, how it could be achieved. I do find the Blender interface very interesting. I know Blender is good for organic and character modelling, but I do know that it is also good for creating for example cars. I have been stunned by some samples of this presented on the blenderartists forum. I basically want to design vehicles with Blender and I am currently learning how to do that through tutorials etc. This should not mean that I can not ask questions and make suggestions. That is what you do when learning, right? @ m I am glad you agree that it would be useful to have the 'node highlighting. I also suspect this functionality would not be a serious demand of resources. It would be great if this could be implemented as a switchable option, so that for example Lou can turn it off... @ Alberto That was exactly what I was looking for! Thanks a lot. It took me a few times switching between Object and Edit mode, but now I get it. Works flawless. Tricks like using the object center for functions like this are very useful and as far as I can tell under-documented. I might have overlooked it in the BlenderWiki, but I sure did not know about it. I'm glad I do now. Thanks again.
