CinePaint is discontinuing CVS and migrating to both Subversion and Bzr.
If anyone has input for this plan, let me know.

CinePaint SCons lead Teoh and Subversion project leader Blair Zajac
recommend that CinePaint migrate from CVS to Subversion. Reasons to
support this change:

1. Blair works at Sony Pictures Imageworks, is someone I know in the
film industry

2. I need to rename files from .c to .cpp and CVS doesn't like that

3. Subversion is reportedly much more efficient over net connections

Ubuntu project leader Mark Shuttleworth and Bzr project leader Robert
Collins recommend that CinePaint migrate to DVMS Bazaar. Reasons to
support this change:

1. Bzr is standard with Ubuntu

2. Bzr is a more modern way of doing independent out-team development
than Patch

3. Bzr can be used in parallel with Subversion via Launchpad

So, for our SourceForge repository I'm migrating from CVS to Subversion.
(CVS or Subversion are the only available choices at SF.) Via Launchpad
we'll also support Bzr.

CVS will be discontinued because the migration tool for CVS is a
one-time process that cannot automatically keep CVS and Subversion in sync.
