That's true, but every project of any size dealing with a legacy 
architecture that's a decade old has problems going forward. It's not 
like Microsoft lacks for resources, yet they have had many problems and 
delays moving from XP to Vista. Apple just about lost it going from OS 9 
to OS X. If you want a big well-funded open source example, Mozilla, 
almost disappeared during their transition from legacy Netscape code. 
Everyone has a hard time coping with end-of-life legacy code and major 
software transitions.

Just a reminder, we're OS neutral here, not GNU evangelists. That 
CinePaint works elegantly on every popular OS is our goal.
