Low Performance on Radeon X850 XT

Hello,

I use a Radeon X850 XT AGP on a Nvidia NForce3 with the AMD64 6000+ X2 CPU.
I use the Opensource driver "Radeon", Linux Kernel 2.6.21 from the Linux
Distribution Debian Testing (32 Bit x86).

Glxgears have follow FPS:

2292 frames in 5.0 seconds = 458.312 FPS
2306 frames in 5.0 seconds = 461.025 FPS
2222 frames in 5.0 seconds = 444.343 FPS

My Radeon 9250 have the same FPS.

How get more performance on my Radeon X850XT?
