There is already a pointer in the FTP site README.txt which describes 
the various available distribution formats.  I should problably update 
the GraphicsMagick download HTML page to describe all this.

This does not surprise me since Z-Zip has been popular under Windows 
for several years.  On the other hand, *.lzma is supported by some 
(currently) obscure utilities and will probably take several years to 
become popular, similar to the uptake of bzip.  Only the latest 
Automake release supports generating lzma.

Interestingly, it seems that the benefit of lzma vs bz2 is less 
compelling:
