Robert, I've been trying to work with Videolan streaming for a Firewire 
camera, and a DVB device at home.
I want to get it working with my iPAQ, so I can play with 
streaming video wirelessly about the flat.


I have a Firewire camera working with Gnomemeeting.
The camera is a D-Link, and is working as a raw1394 device.

The application you should first look at is Coriander.
Once you have that running, you should be mostly there.

Coriander says it will export the camera as a V4L device.
Sadly I can't get the latest version to work, though
I have had previous versions working  :-(


As for the DVB device, this is a Happague DVB-T over USB.
Works fine on Fedora, with the linuxtv-dvb tools.
I can display the program using Xine.
Sadly I can't get things to work with Videolan.
