Your response made me laugh. Eventually you get an instinct for this sort of thing. I've been making films/CG WAY too long. :) From your description it seemed very likely you were running out of RAM. I figured the rest of the email was just good education for folks. Seeing the rest of your thread, 512MB is way light for any CG work. Heck my laptop has 768MB, and I don't do any CG on it, it's just a busy email/web/occasional compile type of system. For HD/film workstations I put 4GB in them. That's the point of diminishing return for 32 bit systems. 64 bit systems let you go even higher as necessary. Of course the resolution of the models and the renders will drive those numbers. In any case, I'm glad I could help. - |Daryll -- Daryll Strauss phone: 310-733-3001 x201 Digital Ordnance email: [email protected] 1724 Rockefeller Lane web: http://www.digitalordnance.com Redondo Beach, CA 90278 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
