I think NMU'ing at least the one-line fix, that is relevant for building other software that uses libmng would be a good idea in this situation. Not only for MPlayer, but all downstreams of linmng. If you think it won't be fixed soon in Debian, I can commit my workaround patch defining MNG_NO_INCLUDE_JNG . We can revert that part of the patch later when the issue is fixed in Debian.
